A. GORDON LYONS, M.D.
Dr. Gordon Lyons is a Millsaps College honors graduate with a B.S. in Biology. He received his M.D. from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1983. In 1986 he completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Texas Medical Brand and in 1995 completed a fellowship in Pain Management at Baylor University.
From 1986 to 1994 he worked at a private anesthesiology practice before serving on several committees in such diverse places as Forrest General Hospital and Methodist Hospital of Hattiesburg. Currently he is the Chief of Staff at the Surgicare of Jackson Ambulatory Surgical Center and is an associate of Jackson Neurosurgery Clinic. He has also committed research on a number of subjects and has been a valued speaker at the Society for Pain Practice Management.
He is happily married to Mary K. Lyons with 2 children, Vara and Phillip. An active member of Galloway United Methodist Church. Dr. Lyons is passionately involved with an extensive range of wildlife and natural conservation programs. He is a former Eagle Scout as well with the Boy Scouts of America.
